Out Of Town Teams

In Wellington we go out of our way to help international teams and crews from around New Zealand compete in our fabulous harbour setting.

If you need help booking accommodation or finding out about our city, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

There is no pre-qualifier to enter the Wellington Dragon Boat Festival and no ID tags are required so visiting teams can be made up of any combination of paddlers.

Out of town teams are welcome to compete in any of our divisions but it is most common that they fit best into Open – Mixed or Open – Women’s.

A maximum squad of 25 may be drawn upon to provide the crew of 20 paddlers for each dragon race. Note: drummer and sweep are additional.
